Last April 28, Rezt ‘n Relax, along with other vendors, held a HomeMaker Seminar exclusively for Yishun Greenwalk residents. The highlight of the event was the presence of MP for Nee Soon GRC (Nee Soon East) Mr Patrick Tay who had an open dialogue with the Yishun Greenwalk residents. It was held at the Orchid Country Club and the event commenced at 11:30am and ended at 4pm.
It started with the organizers and participating vendors busy setting up the registration counters and booths. The club management was also occupied with making sure the venue is ready to welcome Yishun Greenwalk residents. By 11am, people were starting to flood in to register their names and helped themselves to their seats. But not without having their kids enjoy a customized toy balloon and some cotton candy, even the adults liked!
After all the guests have settled, an introduction was made to the group admin of the Yishun Greenwalk residents Mr Kay Teck Hui. He acknowledged the presence of the residents and especially recognized the goodwill of Alan Goh who helped us promote this event. Afterwards, the proper dialogue with MP Mr Patrick Tay began. He shared a lot of insights on what’s happening in and around Yishun neighborhood who most of them are not even aware of and they appreciated this very much.
Immediately after the dialogue, guests were treated to a lunch buffet. When everyone was all filled up happily, guests went back to their seats for a series of presentations by the participating vendors. Of course, each vendor has something special in store for the attendees! Special prizes were given away and several people were left smiling and wanting more.
After the presentation, guests were given the chance to shop around for special deals from the vendors on site. Some of the vendors involved apart from us were LeGate, Yale, Focus de Lightings, Floor Xpert and even SingTel and the participating agencies were NPC Yishun North, Land Transport Authority, Nee Soon Town Council and National Environment Agency.
Guests were given almost 2 hours to shop around. And to close out the event, the lucky draw began. With lots of free stuff to give away, vendors and guests alike got too excited and everyone was just waiting for the 2 grand prizes to be drawn that includes an iPad 3G Mini and a 50″ Samsung TV. The crowd was so feeling the moment that they kept chanting more, more, more! Luckily, the vendors were feeling generous and ended up giving away not just one 50″ TV but 3! And this left everyone gasping from excitement.
It was indeed a fun filled event for Yishun Greenwalk residents. And we hope that not only the community of Greenwalk went home happy but also well educated and more aware of their neighborhood that they just start to love Yishun even more.
